You gotta’ love the No Fun League. CBS 4 in Miami reported today that tailgating will not be allowed at Super Bowl XLI. Sue Juarez, member of the Super Bowl Host Committee said, “There is no tailgating allowed in the Dolphin Stadium parking lots.” The wet blanket went on to say, “And there is no tailgating anywhere within a one mile radius of the stadium, and there are no RV’s allowed.” Although the Miami Dolphins allow tailgating in their parking lot during the regular season, the league is in charge of operations come Super Bowl time. “This is part of the NFL, not the Dolphins,” said Juarez. A Miami-Dade police detective confirmed the rules, stating that if fans are caught grilling or consuming alcohol within one mile of the stadium they will be asked to leave. “We are trying to make this a pleasant experience for everyone, and there will be plenty to do during the week leading up to the game,” said the flat-footed killjoy. Yeah, plenty to do--like spending every last nickel you have on overpriced food, drink, and assorted crap in corporate tent world. Pleasant experience my foot, this is about the all-mighty dollar like everything else. I know I always get a real sense of "pleasure" whenever I shell out nine bucks for a cold brew.
